At last year’s E3 the big controversy was the re-design of Cole in inFamous 2. This year, everyone’s going to be talking about how we’re all too busy to play the freakin’ thing on account of the game debuting the first day of E3 2011. Gaming is sometimes a cruel mistress.

Also, for a correction on the podcast I recently said that inFAMOUS 2 is going to come out on May during our Henchmen surprise but apparently it's not. (Lulz, My bad.)

The Official PlayStation Blog dropped word today that inFamous 2 would be hitting the streets on June 7 2011 and also confirmed/detailed the previously-scoped Hero Edition. For the not-so-low retail price of $99 players will get a replica messenger bag, 8.5″ statue of Cole, soundtrack, comic, and a pinata-full of downloadable goodies.



Here’s the breakdown on pre-order bonuses from Sony:

• Cole’s nasty new weapon definitely delivers the pain, but when you pre-order at Amazon.com you can get a gold (in-game) version to dish it out in style.
• Experience inFAMOUS 2 as Cole’s super-powered nemesis from the first inFAMOUS story if you pre-order from Best Buy.
• GameStop fans can unlock this special power with their pre-order, an electro-kinetic tether that lets you snare and pull enemies and objects towards Cole.
• Visit Walmart and pre-order to get powerful grenade that ties enemies down with arcing electricity before going BOOM.
