While SOCOM 4 was shown during the early days of the PlayStation Move as reason to make the motion-controlled device attractive amongst the hardcore, the game was delayed past the peripheral’s launch window and into 2011 where it’s pretty much been MIA ever since. Now, Sony has revealed that fans of the long-running franchise can expect to see the next iteration of the SOCOM franchise come their way this April, as reported by the Wall Street Journal in a story about “core” games for the typically casual device.

SCEA has also confirmed the news to the gang at Joystiq, which just makes the prospect of finally seeing SOCOM 4 all the more legit. Of course, we don’t have a firm date within the month of April just yet, but you can bet that we’ll get you those details as soon as they emerge.
