DC Universe Online was ranked #1 on its two distributing sites, Steam and Direct2Drive, on its first day of release. The superheroes are in the house, flying around your kitchen and setting fire to your cat with laser vision.

DCUO beat out Call of Duty: Black Ops for the number one spot on Steam and Dragon Age 2: Bioware Signature Edition on D2D.

Priced at $50, DCUO is using a subscription model instead of microtransactions, a move that may prove to be more dangerous than Doomsday in a fine china shop.

Me and Jonathon have been playing around with it for a little while when it first came to release and it did have problems to begin with registering and installing but aside from that it went smooth as eggs.

Also, I have tried both versions of the DCUO for the PS3 and the PC and I have noticed that the PC seems to run a little bit more smoother than the PS3 considering that this is probably one of the first MMORPG for the console it did a pretty great job doing so. While, there are many bugs and glitches still in the game, I am sure that a quick patch would be able to solve the problems. Look out for my full review of the game on the site sooner or later!
 
Champions Online, the superhero MMO from former City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios, announced Tuesday it will switch to a free-to-play model Jan. 25. I’m sure timing the announcement to correspond with the release of DCUO was a complete coincidence.
