BioWare has released a new dev diary that delivers five minutes of insight into the writer’s approach to the story telling in the upcoming Dragon Age II.

Shaped by consequences and hard decisions, the story in DA2 is apparently vastly different than that of its predecessor while also exploring an entirely different way of telling the tale. One of the more intriguing aspects of the video is the explanation of the the story within a story mechanic known as frame narrative that’s been used for hundreds of years and made popular by films such as The Usual Suspects and The Princess Bride. The video even suggests that Dragon Age II will be the world’s first interactive frame narrative, making it not only a sweet looking RPG, but a monumental occasion for those of you that are passionate about plots!
