Rocksteady Studio’s Marketing Manager Dax Ginn revealed to the good ol’ folks at GameSpot that Catwoman (not Halle Berry) is the newest playable character in Batman: Arkham City. Additionally, this Catwoman isn’t particularly fond of wearing her mask, so in Arkham City we get to see her pretty face as she pummels Joker’s baddies!

The video found on GameSpot demonstrates a lot of gameplay for Catwoman, and Ginn also mentions that the lack of a gliding ability allows for players to expand their navigation methods–this appears to be mostly climbing-based techniques.

After getting initial word that Catwoman would indeed make a PURfect appearance as a playable character in Batman: Arkham City, WBIE has sent over some visual proof in the form of these scratch-tastic screens and a tail-wagging trailer.

As Catwoman, players will have a chance to indulge in their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale.  Complete with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly interwoven with his main story arc.  She will also be playable in the challenge maps with her own unique combat moves, gadgetry and signature ‘takedowns’.
