Some of the best film moments involve a team of criminal masterminds and elaborate plans to infiltrate a highly-secured building and steal an incredible treasure. If you're the type of person who dreams of concocting your own schemes to pull off the greatest heist in history, then you might have something to look forward to in one of Sony Online Entertainment's showings at E3 this year.
Titled PayDay: The Heist, this four-player cooperative first-person shooter has you and your friends working together to grab the biggest score you can from a tightly-guarded facility. While there will be plenty of firepower available to aid you, the emphasis seems to be on working as a team with a well thought-out plan. You can opt to play as one of three classes: Assault, Support, or Sharpshooter. Each role has its own weapons and equipment (all upgradeable) and the part you play in each heist will significantly affect your experience in each play-through.
This is where the action happens.
There are six heists available at launch (with more promised as DLC, along with more weapons and equipment), and each with its own series of objectives. The game will task players with hijacking an armored car, escaping via a helicopter, evading police through crowded streets, and even using stealth to get at the prize of drugs and money locked inside a panic room. In fact, stealth is an option teams will be able to utilize in all scenarios, like shooting security cameras or eliminating as few enemies as possible. Other tactical options include taking hostages, which you can bargain for captured teammates, or intimidating officers to lower their weapons by making threats.

Using these tactics effectively can make walking away with the loot that much more satisfying. While there's no substitute for playing with similar-minded robbers, the game will also offer a single-player mode that lets you progress with AI companions. Co-op is restricted to online only, but PayDay does feature drop-in/drop-out play for your partners in crime. This is good news, since half the fun of a bank robbery is fighting over how much to take and when to start running.
Admittedly, the developers at Overkill Software have been influenced by some great moments in film, and their goal is for you to recreate those moments with your friends. PayDay: The Heist is planned for release on PC and PSN, and while the details of when this downloadable game will be releasing, or how much it will cost, have not yet been revealed, expect to see and hear more info throughout E3 right here on VGH. ROFL, Kane and Lynch 2 is a joke. I hope this game turns out to be good. I mean it has a good plot, but I think it's going to be too lose. It's probably one of those release straight to PSN store.
