On this week’s GTTV Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon announced the latest addition to the upcoming roster of characters to be featured in the highly-anticipated rebirth of the franchise. Mortal Kombat 3‘s Kabal will be entering the arena with hooks in hand and an X-Ray that Boon describes as “ridiculous”.
When asked by host Geoff Keighley how Kabal has changed for the new MK, Boon stated that the character will maintain his classic moves while gaining “enhanced” versions of certain attacks, referencing Kabal’s ground blades and projectiles as examples. Of course, no conversation about Mortal Kombat is complete without discussing fatalities, and to that end, Boon stated on GTTV that during development, Kabal’s fatality was close to “crossing the line”. Interested? You can see Kabal in action, including one of his new fatalities, for the first time right here.
The new Mortal Kombat is set to release in mid-April on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. What do you think of this latest roster addition?
