If you’ve been waiting on the release of THQ’s interesting-looking FPS Homefront, you’ll have to hold on just a little bit longer as it’s been revealed that the game will be delayed by a week. The news, which came via the game’s official Twitter account, confirms the new dates as follows:
“New Homefront release date confirmed – March 15th (March 18th for the UK) – sorry all, but it’s only a week extra!”
In addition, UK residents now have some extra time to consider picking up the Special Edition of the game, which, as THQ’s website reveals, will will contain the full game as well as additional content including an exclusive weapon – the 870 express shotgun – and day 1 multiplayer unlocks of Air Recon Drone, auto repair ability and the SCAR-L assault rifle.
So, there ya go – it might take a few extra days for the occupation of America to get under way, but are you thinking it will be worth the wait???
So many good games coming out around march. Still not sure if I’ll go with Homefront or Killzone 3.
Depends on how the K3 Beta turns out tonight. :)
Homefront looks unbelievably bland and generic. I definitely won’t waste my time with it.
Im wondering how just a week extra will help the game? maybe they started to late with writing the copies for retail? Because a week doesnt give you enough time to fix any bugs or something.
At this point, the game hasn’t gone gold yet, so it’s possible they found a major bug and decided to fix it before writing the discs.
Might pass on Homefront anyway, the trailers about the story made me cringe (if you know John Milius…I won’t start a political debate…) and the gameplay looks generic.
I’ll second that the political slant is pretty tasteless (but no worse than Modern Warfare 2).
I’m down with a few of the ideas (Battle Points, the Remote Mule and Drone, no fighting over vehicles, no cutscenes a la Half-Life), but the paint by numbers art direction does nothing for me.
