While the franchise as a whole has always been about letting players live out their fantasies by pitting Capcom’s cadre of heroes and villains against Marvel’s, there’s one thing that the next game in the series won’t be offering its hardcore fanbase – a pre-release demo.
In a post on the Capcom Unity boards, Chris Svensson touches on several topics, stating why certain franchises like Darkstalkers and Capcom vs. SNK haven’t been revisited by the publisher (yet), why there was no Wii version of MvC3, and why the game won’t have a demo.
“Demos take time to make, test and submit and they aren’t cheap which would mean something else would have to be cut or reduced to have time in the schedule and budget to do it,” Svensson said. “Secondly, historically our retail fighting game releases have not had demos and we don’t believe that has hurt sales or long term consumer feedback if the experience is good (and in MvC3, it is great).”
Do you see this is a slight to the MvC3 fanbase, or does a game like MvC3 even need one? Battle it out in the comments!

I blame Svensson for this.
Dunno how, or why really, But I do.
