With Atari in dire financial straits, it seemed like 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game was just a one-shot deal and that the publisher wouldn’t revisit the franchise anytime soon. Therefore, it was quite the surprise when Atari revealed a sequel that would be hitting this coming spring.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will put players back in the boots of “the rookie” the nameless/faceless protagonist introduced in 2009’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The game will support four-player co-op action (online and off), and will be a top-down affair. Unlike its predecessor, it won’t feature voice work from the original actors like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, or Harold Ramis. Players will even be able to drive around in the Ecto-4WD for the first time.
The game is currently being developed by Assault Heroes dev Wanako and will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC (presumably over digital distribution services) come spring 2011.

this is cool I actually semi-enjoyed the ghost busters game. Even though I didn’t buy it until it was on sale earlier this year, it was a fun enough game. This looks to be interesting enough to garner my attention as well. I’ll be looking into this one and dead nation from the PSN this upcoming year.
