Considering the rabid fanbase behind its predecessor, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has some awfully big shoes to fill. Fortunately, Capcom has unveiled a little more details on how they plan to accomplish this, as they have confirmed some new modes and detailed the game’s license card system.
On a blog posted on the Capcom Unity website, the publisher revealed that MvC 3 would have the “robust fight modes you’d expect from a fighting game, including single player and versus modes with online play”. Additionally, they revealed the Mission mode, which would allow players to train by completing some specific challenges.
The post also details the license card system, which allows players to stack up their opponents and peruse their fighter data, which includes a look at their individual fighting style. Additionally, you can personalize your own license card visually. The blog post adds more details:
“Your own license card will in fact record your data, let you choose your favorite icon to represent you, and record your battles and player points. The data in the license card will allow you to see positive and negative points about your play style. By reviewing player data online, you can find friends and rivals to play against and then do ‘recon’ as the fight starts-up. The license card will allow you to see who an opponent’s favorite team of characters is, number of wins and losses, what kind of attacks they like and much more.”
Expect more info on this highly anticipated game before it launches on February 15, 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
