Never one to let only the WoW side of the Blizzard camp have all the fun, the developer has 2 has launched the Public Test Realm for StarCraft 2, allowing players to try out the upcoming 1.2.0 patch before it officially goes live. By checking out the PTR, you’ll be able to test the new changes on tap from the update, including Battle.net Chat Channels, before it launches soon.
The Latest
In order to check out the Public Test Realm, you have to have had a StarCraft 2 account since before November 11. If so, there should be a file in your SC2 directory called “StarCraft II Public Test.exe” (added in a recent patch). If you run this file, you’ll create a separate PTR client (so don’t worry about it messing with your normal SC2 account). For more details on this process, check out the Public Test Realm’s FAQ.
