Sony is finally addressing the global gamer ADHD epidemic by making Gran Turismo 5 with an optional “load as you go” download time.

Players can download the entire 6.4 GB game before playing, taking an estimated 40 minutes, or download new areas and tracks as they are revealed throughout gameplay.

Sony didn’t specify, but we assume this makes loading times between these new areas longer than the hardcore full download.

Gran Turismo 5 is set to drop Nov. 24 exclusively for PS3. Are you going to get your race on? What are the benefits of a one-time, complete download or loading as you go?

  4. Sounds to me like an Office 10 move, it downloads features on the fly, but It’s not available immediately. To me that’s like saying we didn’t finish making the game (too many chiefs can’t make up their minds), but where putting it out any way, but we will add the missing features while you play (slowing down your already slow “high speed” internet).

The benefits of having the complete game is there are no delays. Load times in general makes me sick, but trying to access something that’s not there is something I’d kill over.
