The Latest

A month after its release, Bungie has finally pulled back the curtains on Halo: Reach's upcoming DLC, The Noble Map Pack. Priced at 800 Microsoft Points, which equates to about $10, the Noble Map Pack will see the addition of 3 new multiplayer maps and 250 Gamerscore points, and will be released on November 30th. Here's a little preview of what you can expect, in a little more than a month.

Anchor 9 is the first map. It's a UNSC repair station, in low orbit over Reach, and is best suited for 2-8 players in smaller Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective gametypes. Take a look at some screenshots of Anchor 9 below.

The next map, Breakpoint, seems to be based off of the mission where you are managing turrets outside of the archaeological labs of Dr. Halsey. This map looks to be more suited to larger gametypes like Invasion and Big Team Battle, holding anywhere from 8 - 16 players.

The last map, Tempest, is medium-large map comprised of two opposing symmetrical bases. This one's focused on Free for All, Team Slayer, Team Objective and Big Team Battle, and houses anywhere from 8 - 16 players.

Did that satisfy all of your Halo: Reach DLC needs? I know I'll be downloading this day one, once it hits the Xbox Live Marketplace. I was a little let down by the number of custom maps packaged with Halo: Reach, but this looks like it might satisfy those cravings, at least until the next map pack is released. Also, don't forget sometime next week, possibly around 10/19, Bungie will be rolling out another Matchmaking Playlist Update that brings Campaign Matchmaking and dedicated Infection and Team Snipers playlists, so watch out for that in the days ahead.

Well, that's about all the Halo: Reach news I've got at the moment. So, what do you guys think about the new Noble Map Pack? While I feel like they could've added these maps to the final retail game, I can't complain, and the 800 MS Point price tag is 10x more appealing than MW2's 1200 MS Points. Also, quick unrelated site update, I'm currently working on an Enslaved Video Review, hence my absence from posting for the past couple of days, so look out for that very soon. Anyways, thanks for reading, and look forward to hearing your thoughts on the Noble Map Pack.
