After much anticipation EA Sports has announced that FIFA Ultimate Team will be returning for her 3rd edition. FIFA '11 Ultimate Team will be available for FREE download for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 on November 3rd.

It gets better, right now, returning owners (if you played Ultimate Team in FIFA 09 or '10) can log onto the brand new FIFA Ultimate Team Web tool. The web tool allows team owners to buy packs and manage their squad from easports.com. For added incentive, there are daily rewards for using the web tool now until November 3rd.

As if there was no need for more incentive to return to Ultimate Team, returning owners will also receive two free gold packs in reward for their loyalty.

One major addition to Ultimate Team is the ability to finally play your friends' teams through a new mode called Play A Friend. In the past this was the one major hinderance to Ultimate Team, due to the fear of boosters, EA Sports thought it better to make this an experience to share by yourself. Now, friends can collect player cards, sell, trade, and most of all, earn bragging rights on the pitch.

The news comes days after FIFA rivals Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 received praise from reviewers.

  2. Could they possibly fix the main game before releasing the add ons?

  4. I'm sure they worked to fix the bugs before making all of these new additions.

  6. a patch for the freezing issues and other annoying glitches should really be their main concern. the EA forums are flooded with people reporting these issues. I'm not sure EA have even acknowledged there's a problem with their product.

  8. They have acknowledged some of the issues people are complaining about - bad lag in OTP and Online Clubs, being able to turn pro passing off in online games, Classic X1 glitch, flag glitch, team mates being put on the wrong team, results not being recorded properly etc

Some things have certainly got better server side - i.e. it doesn't take 20 attempts to find a game any more when playing clubs. There is a patch due I think but not sure of the date.
If the state of the main game is anything to go by Ultimate Team will introduce a raft of new bugs so perhaps they are waiting to roll all the fixes into one patch. Which is annoying if true.
FIFA 11 has been a total mess so far - which is a shame as it plays a really good game of football under all the bugs

    I couldn't agree more.

  11. @Baloney, @McGooch they have acknowledged the issues last update was oct 25th; http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/20488....

  13. Ulticrack is back! I got luiz suarez in one of my free packs - does that mean I have to turn hand balls on so I can use him properly?

  15. Don't care. sold the game before my weeks online trial ended for the same price I paid. better luck robbing me next time EA!

  16. Tinners Says:
  17. They bring out more stuff with potentially more bugs than the curret game/mess they have made, what a joke.....typical EA keep on churning out beta versions of your games.. They should shut down there forums, utterly pointless!

  19. its worth noting that if you sign into their Ultimate Team website every day u get a free gift i.e. free half a gold/bronze/silver pack / coins. You have got to laugh at the people selling things for 450,000 coins already as logically speaking its virtually impossible to get that many coins this early as the only way u can get coins atm is to either discard your players or sell them to another person who again will have limited coins.

  21. EA are making ultimate team for free as fifa 11 has made a record sales and would like to reward the customers by free access to ultimate team.. there is no catch... they will obviously make some money from people buying packs using microsoft points..

  22. Stroypa Says:
  23. Whoo! Can't wait for this I spent so much time amassing a great team last time. And it wasn't by playing the slot machine that is the gold packs, it was through buying low and selling high :P With my wheeling and dealing I should be on the apprentice.

  24. LUKE1989 Says:
  25. if you did then separate pack buyers from pack earners then surly you would want to be part of the buying group on average you will get easier matches because the people you are playing against like to take short cuts and are not as committed to the game giving you a chance of making it up the leader boards.

  26. Alan000130 Says:
  27. My most wanted feature is to separate the community into people who purchase packs and people who don't. It seems unfair that I should lose out because I will not spend money on cards in a videogame.

  28. iWill Says:
  29. But what of the price?

  30. "But what of the price?"

Dude it says free. Did you not even read the title?

"Dude it says free. Did you not even read the title?"

So whats the catch, Fifa 10 ultimate team was 1 of the biggest selling dlc packs of all time, why is it free now. theres goto be a catch somewhere.

  33. LUKE1989 Says:
  34. You have addicts like me to thank for that one, over last two years I spent hundreds on gold packs and this year the difficulty in getting new players brought about by it being free. will mean a few hundred will be spent in till I get my team.
