Capcom is laying the smack down today with new details for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and all the ways you’ll have to pick up this title on whatever your platform of choice may be.
First up, SSIV Arcade will be available in a couple flavors. The DLC version is going to be available as an upgrade for current owners of Super Street Fighter IV. On top of that, a full-on retail box version will also be available.
Whichever version you pick up, you’re gonna get four new characters: brothers Yun and Yang (Street Fighter III), Evil Ryu, and Oni; various balancing tweaks, fresh costumes for all fighters, and animated intro/ending sequences for the new characters.
A free update will allow all Super Street Fighter IV players to face-off online. Players with the original SSFIV will only be able to play against (not as) the new characters and the match will not take advantage of any new balancing tweaks.
The Arcade Edition DLC launches world-wide on June 7th for $15 with the retail version due on June 24 in Europe and June 28th in North America. No word on price for the retail version but Capcom promised it wouldn’t ‘break the bank.’ As this is the first PC-release for Super Street Fighter IV, that will only be available as a retail copy and is expected to arrive in July.
So, who’s ready to get their ass-kick on? The comments are your arena; let us know!
