Even with the ongoing situation surrounding the National Football League and Players Association that very well may mean no REAL football for NFL fans this season, EA Sports’ president Peter Moore has confirmed that followers of the long-running Madden franchise will get their annual fill come August 30, 2011 when Madden NFL 12 hits store shelves.

No huge surprise of course, but it should be interesting to see how, if at all, fan reaction to the game (which is still seeking to crown a cover athlete) is impacted by the turmoil on and off the turf. So, who here would plan on picking up the new Madden even if you can’t support your favorite team in real life?
