After just getting word on the official release date for Gears of War 3, we’ve now got some more details to throw on the fire. First up is the finalized box-art for the highly anticipated title and, probably of greater interest, is word that a multiplayer beta for Gears 3 is set to start up in April.



So far, we know the multiplayer beta will feature three game modes and four maps. Players can head to the game’s Facebook page to vote on which maps they’d like to see included in the beta. We don’t yet know the exact date for the launch of the beta beyond the ‘mid-April’ time frame. Gears of War 3 is set for release on Sept 20th worldwide (the 22nd in Japan).
