TorrentFreak has released its list of most pirated games of the year, placing Call of Duty: Black Ops at the top of the PC pile, Dante’s Inferno for Xbox 360 and Wii’s Super Mario Galaxy 2.
PC’s Black Ops amassed the highest number of downloads with a whopping 4,270,000, almost half of its current sales total. A big round of applause goes out to all you dirty, dirty pirates out there. Without you, this couldn’t have been possible (ends sarcasm).

Black Ops is a bit of a Cinderella story, topping the reigning champ, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, within just a few weeks of its release. For 360, however, Black Ops placed fifth behind Dante’s Inferno, Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption and Halo: Reach.

The top two downloads for the Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Wii Party, topped 360 numbers by a few hundred thousand.

Unsurprisingly, PC games consistently have an illegal download number about three times higher than 360 or Wii games, and millions of times higher than PS3, because damn that’s some safe hardware.
