Major League Gaming, the largest professional gaming league in the world, recently revealed that they have received a major boost in funding, getting $10 million. The deal is scheduled to complete in Q1 2011, and brings MLG’s total funding to 52.5 million.

The investment comes from Legion Enterprises, an investment firm that targets the coveted 18-24 demographic.

“At MLG we are dedicated to providing our community with the ultimate competitive video game experience both on and offline,” said Sundance DiGiovanni, CEO and co-founder, MLG. “Over the last eight years we have set out to build competitive gaming into a global, cross-platform business and thanks to investments from companies like Legion Enterprises and Oak Investment Partners, that vision is well on its way to becoming a reality.”

MLG has also unveiled a fresh design at their website, majorleaguegaming.com, and will be rolling out social networking and video capabilities over the next few months.

How do you feel about the MLG and competitive gaming?
