If you’re like me, you don’t need much incentive to pre-order the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution – nope – the bad-ass trailers and potential-packed gameplay is reason enough, but just in case you needed a little pushing over the edge, Square Enix has revealed some pre-order incentives while also detailing the game’s “Augmented” special edition.
First, the pre-orders. Those of you that decide to put down cash at GameStop will get the exclusive “Explosive Mission Pack” which features an entirely new mission with special cameo appearance of original Deus Ex character, the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED), and an “automatic unlocking device” which we assume is good for unlocking things.
If you decide not to pre-order from GameStop, you can still pre-order elsewhere and receive the “Tactical Enhancement Pack” which will provide you with the Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun, the Longsword Whisperhead Extreme Range Sniper Rifle and a few extra credits.
Now, if you’re SUPER stoked about the game, you can pick up the Augmented Edition which includes a 40-page artbook, exclusive bonus DVD: Making Of, special trailers, animated storyboard of CGI trailer and soundtrack, premium packaging, and a motion graphic novel.
The standard edition of the game will go for $59.99 on 360 and PS3 and $49.99 on PC while the Augmented Edition will run $10 more on either platform.
So, are you interested in pre-ordering Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Do you STILL hate the fact that these bonuses are divvied up amongst multiple retailers making it difficult for gamers to get what they want? What about the Augmented Edition?
