Square Enix has bestowed its upcoming cyberpunk, Matrix-inspired, telepathic third-person-shooter Mindjack an official release date of Jan.18, 2011 in North America and Jan. 27 in Japan.

Mindjack features a classic dystopian future of government control and advanced technology, but the spin lies within the weapons based on telepathy and remote control of enemies. Many of the attacks sound a lot like the Imperius curse on steroids, but everyone knows it takes an extremely powerful wizard to cast wandlessly and the thought of an entire society doing so is simply Riddikulus.Also, there are monkeys.
