Leave it up to the gaming community to hack the hell out of Microsoft’s recently-released Kinect in order to find a way to make the thing produce an “almost holographic” 3D video. After all, we’re gonna make as many of our Star Wars fantasies come true no matter what it takes.
So, there’s this vid floating around the net that showcases what happens when the Kinect’s depth recognition and video capture are combined. It’s pretty sweet, so check it out after the jump and let us know if you think we’re one step closer to fulfilling our holographic dreams.
Not really rhe Star Wars thing i had in mind when i saw the title but still interesting, hacking shit like this is pretty much all Kinnect’s gonna be good for.
