Zombie killing never gets old, and with a game series like Dead rising, it has made zombie killing so much fun and enjoyable. Unlike every other zombie game, Dead Rising rely's on you the player to basically find any random object to use as a weapon against the undead and with the new system of combining objects, it also encourages you as the player to combine objects together to create weapons that will score you more points.
Good:
• Zombies look more detailed.
• Hundreds, possibly thousands more zombies on the screen this time around.
• Well written plot and interesting story.
• psychopaths are back, with more darker and detailed stories behind them.
• Save system has improved with two extra save slots.
• You still have your level status even if you restart the game.
• Servbot head is back!
• 2X Bloodier than the first Dead Rising.
Bad:
• Boss fights are easy as anything.
• So... much... LOADING!! (I have tried both consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360 and I would have to say that the 360's version works so much better than the PS3 in regards to loading times. I guess since it is an Xbox 360 original franchise, that it just got ported to the PS3 but this is just an assumption.)
• Chuck is going to be walking a very slow pace until he levels up a little.

Now then plot. It has been five years since the events of Dead rising 1 and you play as Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion who competes in a reality show known as 'Terror is reality' a show similar to American gladiators and all set for one goal... to kill as many zombies as possible. After chainsawing a few zombies on your bike at the start, we soon realize that chuck is only on this show to earn some cash for his daughter Katey, who has been bitten by a zombie and is forced to take a medication known as Zombrex every 24 hours so she doesn't become one of the undead. Fortunately for Chuck, the undead break loose and Chuck rushes to save his daughter katey. He manages to save her, and provide her with safety in a shelter. Here on, Chuck must go out into the world of fortune City and find his daughter some Zombrex, as well as uncovering the whole conspiracy of why the zombies have broken loose.

Game-play is similar to the one of Dead rising 1, with a few added features. Unlike Frank West, chuck has the ability to combine all sorts of weapons together to create one so unique and ridiculous to use against the undead.
This new system is a replacement of the last one, were frank took pictures of the undead for the best scoop for his story, and like the camera game, this will earn you more PP to level up Chuck.
The world of Dead rising 2 is much larger this time round then the last one. Instead of a mall, there is about several of them. Along with casinos, a hotel and an underground tunnel system, Dead rising 2 has a lot of exploring to do.
A lot of things of the environment can be interacted as well. Not only can chuck go around killing zombies, but he can also gamble away on machines, earn some cash in a cash n grab machine, go see a movie or two, play virtual golf and race around in vehicles.
Dead risings humor, simple is based around killing zombies as ridiculous as possible. This dark humor may not be settling to some people, but for me, I appreciate the effort gone towards it all.
HOW DOES IT LOOK? Dead Rising 2 is a beautiful game. Although there are some frame rate issues especially a high population level but other than that it's flawless with details from the face, to clothing and appliances. Blood however may tend to get a little overused but who doesn't like blood.
HOW DOES IT SOUND? The voice actors of the game is wonderful, as well as the soundtrack. Whenever you are fighting with a psychopath they have their very own theme music that plays. It's pretty awesome actually. Nothing like beating a psychopath with heavy metal in the background. Also, the "mall" music is pretty good too although it's a bit repetitive.
HOW DOES IT PLAY? The control scheme of Dead Rising 2 is good, with the exception of Hand to Hand combat. It plays just like the original Dead Rising game, with a few improved details. Overall, playing it is pretty convenient and fun.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST? It will last you multiple game play throughs. With it's multiple ending system, you will have to actually scrounge through the game differently to get different endings. Also, with the different encounters, and unannounced survivors this game is surely going to keep you company for awhile.
HOW IS IT PRESENTED? This game is presented with good faith. Very enjoyable from start to finish. If you like a good storyline accompanied with a open world, free for all weapon zombie sim then this game is a must for you.
Final Verdict:
The game overall is great, there are plenty of ways to kill or humiliate zombies, such as impale them with a stick pony, or grind them to the pavement with a lawnmower shield. There is also great care taken to give you a particular feeling about the game. Moments like Chuck with his daughter are meant to make you feel compassionate towards the characters, this contrast with the game play makes a strange feeling of obligation to fulfill a characters need in the game buy also have fun on the way there. The first game also incited this feeling as well. There are some faults however, most of them minor. The Game was a bit to short with just not enough content to incite multiple play troughs.Fan of Franchise? Get it.
