Hey Guys, in today's gaming headlines we got us Obsidian-developed spinoff of Fallout 3 sent off to the factory for Oct. 19 release on PC, 360, and PS3. Just Cause You Asked For It, The Video Game Is Coming To The Big Screen, and the new Interrogation to feature in the Dark Knight's next adventure. All this and more, in today's gaming headlines.


Wasteland wanderers can start polishing their combat armor--Fallout: New Vegas is gold. Today, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced that the post-nuclear role-playing game is finished, with the master disc now en route to the factory. The game ships on October 19 in the US and October 22 in the UK, and is rated M for mature by the ESRB and 18 by PEGI.

Developed by many veterans of the original Fallout games at Obsidian Entertainment (Alpha Protocol), New Vegas is set in the Mojave Wasteland and casts players in the role of a courier who gets shot in the head over a package and is left for dead. After recovering, players will be free to roam the desert, exploring new areas and modifying weapons. They will also get wrapped up in the larger conflict between the New California Republic and the slave-trading Caesar's Legion, based out of the former casino Caesar's Palace.



New Vegas will feature a bevy of voice talent, including Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton. Other actors on board include Danny Trejo (Machete), Kris Kristofferson (Blade), Felicia Day (The Guild), and Matthew Perry (Friends). Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy) will once again be the game's narrator, and Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation) will reprise his role as Marcus, the intelligent mutant from Fallout 2.

New Vegas will be simultaneously released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. On the latter platform, the minimum requirements are as follows:

--OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP
--Processor: Dual Core 2.0 GHz
--Memory: 2 GB RAM, 10GB hard drive space
--Video card: Nvidia Gforce 6 series, ATI 1300XT minimum

Video games and comic books are the big hit in Hollywood and it looks like another one has been optioned for the big screen by the same guy who brought us the very cool Hitman movie. (Naked chicks and fights, so ya, it was cool.)

Eric Eisner's L+E Pictures has optioned the film rights to Avalanche Studios' videogame franchise "Just Cause," which it will develop with producer Adrian Askarieh, of Prime Universe Prods., before shopping it to the studios.

Michael Ross ("Turistas") will pen the script.

Property revolves around Rico Rodriguez, aka the Scorpion, a black ops agent who carries out deadly missions for the U.S. government that come in the form of creating chaos and destabilizing rogue nations from within and turning the bad guys against each other.

The character's calling card is his grappling hook and penchant for aerial stunts with his unique parachute, putting him in unusual action scenarios like hijacking fighter jets in midair.





More details are slowly dripping in on Rocksteady's much anticipated return to the world of the caped crusader, Batman: Arkham City.

This month's PSM3 – thumbed by CVG – has some inside info on a re-jigged detective mode, with The Riddler's puzzles now playing a part in Arkham City's combat.

"The location of [The Riddler's] biggest secrets are known only to him and people he's told," the game's director Jamie Sefton Hill told the magazine, "Rather than unlocking their locations using maps, Batman will be able to scan a gang of thugs to find a potential informant."



It means that Bats has to exercise caution when his fists are flying, sometimes having to ensure that the marked man is left standing after a fight. "This is the guy you need to question, but first you'll have to take down all the other gang members while sparing the one you want," explained Sefton Hill, "That can be tough when Batman's in a seamless FreeFlow combo chain."



Batman: Arkham City isn't due out until late next year, but already we're getting horribly excited about it. We know it marks an appearance from Catwoman as well as Two-Face; expect more info in the coming months.
